Sanitation Schemes

The Sewerage and Waste Water Treatment Services provided by MIBP include master planning, feasibility studies, detailed design and construction supervision.

MIBP has proven capability to carry out process engineering for containment and conveyance systems as well as waste water treatment facilities. Technologies adopted in MIBP designs include aeration, biofiltration and extended activated sludge plants as well as waste stabilization ponds for both municipal and industrial applications. Community based and on‐plot sanitation initiatives for public health and environmental protection have been incorporated in projects conceived by MIBP.

Most Towns with existing Waste Water Management Systems are beneficiaries of efficient sanitation systems either planned, designed or supervised by MIBP. The existing Sewerage Systems in Thika, Eldoret, Nakuru, Machakos, Nyeri, Kiganjo, Athi River and Karatina are some of the Works designed by MIBP. In addition, Wajir, Dadaab, Narok, Chuka and Chogoria are among Towns whose Proposed Sewerage Works are at tendering stage after successful design by MIBP. Castle Breweries and IPC Tannery are some of the Private Industries who have engaged MIBP in development of their Effluent Treatment Systems.
